"Gienow was owned by the von Dewitz family from 1830 to 1880 followed by Rudolf von Kyam and Werner Strauss. There were 377 residents in the village. The Evangelical residents attended the Schivelbein, Belgard church." *

Meesow (Mieszewo) 

"Meesow was one of 32 villages that belonged to the Dewitz family prior to 1900s. From 1804 to 1869 Lieutenant Leopold Ludwig Dewitz owned the estate. The village was both an estate and a church village. According to a report, dated 1868, the Rittergut included 14 farm houses, 2 industrial buildings and 20 tax free buildings. There were 238 people within the 39 families. The livestock included 33 horses, 95 head of cattle and 1928 sheep. The Kirchdorf was made up of 29 farm houses, a church and a Brigadier General's home. There were 306 people within the 50 families. They owned 61 horses, 182 head of cattle and a herd of 1001 sheep. The Meesow Evangelical Church records, which are held in the Landeskirche Archives at Greifswald, Germany, contain many soldier statistics. Also, this report of 20 tax free buildings and the Brigadier General's home indicates that Meesow may have been a base for army training. Surnames found in the Meesow Evangelical Church records include Buss, Kressin, Wiencke, Zahn, Borchardt, Luskow, Pommersten, Pommerecke, Steffen, Krüger, Binnkin, Ackermann, Degener, Pieper and Haege. During the mid 1800s the Evangelical residents of Meesow were a part of the congregation at Roggow-A, that was located a few miles north of Meesow." *

"Roggow A The Evangelical Church of Roggow was the home church for several villages in the area,i ncluding Meesow, Hoffelde, Sallmow and Margrethenhof. In 1932 there were 546 residents, of which 539 were members of the Evangelical Church. The estate owners in 1666 were Stephan von Dewitz, widow of Sel Georg Heinrich von Dewitz, Christoph Friedrich von Borcke and Tittmeister Conrad." *

Our tree spreads pretty wide - I have large family histories for my father's side, my mother's side and my wife's families. I am related to Roland through my mother's side. The family tree has a lot of options, finding relationships is one of them. This is the path between Roland and me

I will be happy to send it anyone who would like to see it. Amanda'a maiden name is listed as Ullom not as Ulrich, and my cousin has traced Ezekiel and Amanda back to Alexander who is Ezekial father. Hello Everyone,

I am the Great Great Granddaughter of Cora Bell and Rolland Cramer!! Their son Clyde Earl Cramer was my Grandfather and Alma was my Aunt Alma!!! I am sooo excited that I found this site!! I have been researching these two to no avail. I just sent to several counties in Illnois for her birth or death certificates, so far no hits. With the added ability for several of us to maintain information in our family trees, it will be important for us to standardize on our methods for doing so. I have used the following conventions when entering information into the database:

• Places: City, County, State/Province, Country (Default). I include all fields and spell out the state completely.
• Sources: I have begun to include a source for every fact included in the database. It makes verifying the data easier, and I also know where I have looked for this information. There are many different ways of citing sources, I suggest beginning by looking at the list of sources I already have added to the database.
• Notes: When adding or changing information in the database, please add a new note with your comments about the change or conclusions.
• Dates: Using the date selector will keep the format consistant - dd month yyyy. Again, this is to avoid confusion with different locales.

This is a good place to start, and we will need to keep in close contact with each other as we move along.

These forums (research) may prove to be very useful - in them, we can propose theories, share findings, and keep track of the various aspects of research we are doing to fill in our family trees and stories. They are only viewable by members assigned to the Research group (the other groups are - Family, Anonymous, Administrators, and General), so we are able to discuss things before making them part of our heritage.

To help separate our research further, I have created individual forums for Steffen and Kienow research, along with this General (research) forum. The Family category of forums is only visible by people in the Family group (and researchers and administrators), and the General category is viewable by everyone.

There are 2 main ways to contribute to a forum - by replying to somebody else's post (topic), or by starting a new topic. Just try things out, you really can't break things I can't fix (I hope)

Just a few quick words about these forums - when we get together, we usually spend a fair amount of time in the kitchen. It's a great place for us to be together and talk about almost anything.Anything we need to let everyone know about gets stuck to the refrigerator door.  These forums are an online version of our kitchens. So, that's the key - if you wouldn't talk about it at the kitchen table, or put it up on the fridge, don't post it here!
