| Death | 2 August 2023 (Age 35) Cause of death: unknown Note: Jon-Erik Stephen Kenow, age 35, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly from yet unknown medical complications, August 2, 2023. Jon-Erik was born August 3, 1987, in Stillwater, Minnesota to Stephen and Julie (Weinzetl) Kenow. He graduated from the Baldwin-Woodville High School, as well as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While in high school, Jon-Erik worked at McDonald’s and made several lifelong friendships, including finding his very best friend, Caitlin. He went on to work for several other companies, including AT&T, Wells Fargo, and Coloplast. Jon-Erik loved watching sports; especially soccer (Go Liverpool FC!), football (Go Vikes!), and the youth games of Caitlin’s kids (his second family). He enjoyed visiting his friends Charles and Erica in Milwaukee; golfing, renting Airbnbs; camping trips—especially to the Boundary Waters with friends Austin, Nellie, Eric, and Andy. He was looking forward to leaving the next day on their next trip. Jon-Erik also liked to play games of all sorts: video games (of course), but also board, card, and car games. He enjoyed eating out (meat, meat, meat, fish) and getting the best food and beverages available. He loved spending time at the cabin, and stated that “his jam” was going four wheeling, boating, and just hanging out in the water by the dock, all finished off with a campfire (and beer, of course). Jon-Erik was the epitome of a thoughtful, caring, and loyal man. We are proud and happy he accomplished so much and enjoyed life to the fullest with his family (including cousins) and friends. Jon-Erik is survived by his parents, Stephen and Julie, and his sister Richelle “Rikki” Kenow. He is preceded in passing by his grandparents; aunts Darlene and Vicki; uncles Mike and Chris; and cousin Scott. A celebration of Jon-Erik’s life will be held Saturday, August 12, at Torgerson’s Funeral Service, 408 N Water St, Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Visitation will start at noon, with service to follow at 1pm. Please wear your Vikings or Liverpool FC jerseys, or any other sports apparel (except Packers and Eagles…just kidding!) To honor Jon-Erik’s love of good food and drinks, please join the family at the Skyline Golf Course after the service.
